SUMMARY: Responsible for carrying out the Security and Emergency Services Programs under the direction of the Supervisor. This position staffs the Gatehouse entrance to the Community. The Security and Emergency Services Gatehouse Officer, delivers exceptional customer service and hospitality, and fosters an environment of safety and security.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains the Erickson Living philosophy and “Vision” statement.
2. Maintains a visible and professional presence at the Gatehouse.
3. Provides a pleasant greeting, and offers assistance as needed to all persons entering the Community
4. Screens all vehicle and pedestrian traffic entering the Community.
5. Denies access to solicitors, barred individuals, and others as directed by the Supervisor
6. Provides concise and accurate directions to visitors, emergency response units, and marketing guests.
7. Informs the SES Supervisor of any inspectors, government representatives, process servers, and law enforcement attempting to enter the Community.
8. Completes thorough and detailed Incident Reports using our online report system.
9. Performs additional duties as assigned by Supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Community.

• Ability to work with computer systems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience as a Security Gatehouse Officer (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in a Customer Service or related role

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.

• May reasonably anticipate coming into contact with bodily fluids which may be potentially infectious. Individuals in this position are required to exercise standard precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices when necessary, and learn the policies concerning infection control.

ROUTINE DECISION MAKING:
• Makes determinations as to when 911 activation is required
• Determines when to notify supervisor based on circumstances, severity of incident and policy requirements
• Makes decisions regarding Campus access by visitors, contractors, etc.
