The Security and Emergency Services Dispatcher oversees multiple Security and Emergency Services systems from a central location.  This position dispatches emergency and routine calls for service to the Security and Emergency Services team, but also interacts with other Departments as needed.  They track all pertinent information during their shift, and initiate the first level of the incident report, for Security and Emergency Services Officer completion.  She/he is an essential member of the Resident Services Team.  The position is responsible for developing relationships with residents and visitors and to provide personalized customer service and hospitality that exceeds expectations.

 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitoring of Emergency Call System for independent living. 
  • Track status of residents involved in emergency situations.
  • Monitor Fire Alarm System
  • Receive emergency calls and dispatch appropriate resources
  • Dispatch Security/ES on calls for service
  • Dispatch ambulance, private ambulances or 911 as needed
  • Page On-call physician as needed
  • Assist with contacting residents during latch checks
  • Log residents who are transported to the hospital in the Census book
  • Log residents who inform us that they will be away in the away book (as needed)
  • Make resident badges as needed
  • Page maintenance when needed
  • Assign and place in computer resident and employee access stickers
  • Monitor CCTV systems.  
  • Track and document all pertinent information on Dispatch log
  • Initiate Incident Reports for completion by SEOs
  • Manage process for updating residents’ File of Life
  • Provide assistance to the Hospitality Associate I as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Security/ES Supervisor.

  • Must expertly navigate quickly and efficiently between multiple, complex software systems and Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year experience in Security/ES dispatching
  • Experience administering First aid and CPR (preferred).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to write in a clear, concise manner with good grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
 
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
 
  1. Requires First Aid, CPR, AED certification (within 90 days of hire)
  2. Higher level EMS Certification (preferred)
