The Grounds Supervisor at Windsor Run in Matthews, NC is responsible for the overall grounds maintenance of the Campus, supervision of all grounds employees and management of all contract administrative functions related to the Grounds Department.  As Grounds Supervisor, you will receive a very competitive base salary, full benefits, great work/life balance, advancement opportunities in the field, and job stability! Essential responsibilities of the Grounds Supervisor are listed below and may include other relevant duties as assigned:
  • Perform the administrative duties of the Grounds Department including developing and managing a budget and purchasing of equipment/supplies.
  • Interviewing and hiring of staff, employee coaching, counseling, performance appraisals, terminations, and contract administration.
  • Training employees on the use of the equipment and safety standards and policies.
  • Supervise and assist in all operations of the Grounds Department including maintaining of all lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, plants and ponds.
  • Maintain all parking areas.
  • Installing and maintaining exterior signs.
  • Maintaining all boundary fencing.
  • Maintaining all associated equipment and machinery.
  • Assisting residents with gardening.
  • Cleaning of all exterior windows and doors.
  • Removing snow and ice from roads and walks.
  • Planning, purchasing and coordinating seasonal decorating.
  • Caring for interior foliage plants.
  • Exterior trash removal.

  • Strong horticultural background preferred.  
  • Ability to implement and initiate necessary plans to ensure proper maintenance of grounds.   Ability to supervise.  
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or related field preferred, high school diploma or GED required.
  • Five years’ experience in grounds maintenance. 
  •  Three years’ supervisory experience.
