We are currently looking for a Traveling Assistant Director of Human Resources to join our dynamic group of Human Resource leaders at our corporate office located in Catonsville, Maryland. This is a newly created position to serve as a resource to any of our 20 communities for workforce planning, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, succession planning and talent management. The Assistant Director of Human Resources may also be utilized for any HR leadership vacancies in the community until they are filled.



Traveling Assistant Director of Human Resources Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensures alignment with corporate strategic objectives, programs and practices.

  • Provide onboarding programming and support for new HR staff

  • Support new and acquired community integration

  • Partner with leadership teams to create development plans and staffing plans to support the overall business goals.

  • Effectively coach leadership in matters relating to people, HR processes, employment practices, HR programs and corresponding impact on the business.

  • Effectively manage change related to Human Capital programs and HR goal achievement.

  • Collaborate with the all corporate teams to provide integrated, strategic and customer focused business solutions.  Manage client expectations and/or contract with clients to ensure that there is a service level agreement.

  • Assist in responding to employee relation issues in partnership with the appropriate line manager/supervisor.

  • Maintain an awareness for management on issues of workplace discrimination, and related issues.

  • Develop ideas to enhance the work environment, improve employee engagement, and strengthen employee relations.

  • Assist employees in understanding of benefit plans, as needed.  Participate in the development of appropriate employee communications to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the benefit program.

  • Implement programs and practices that achieve desirable bottom line performance. 

  • 90% travel to multiple Erickson Living campuses for consultation and support.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing enterprise-wide projects and managing business/strategic process improvements experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management in Human Resources is required.
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes and provide guidance to teams working to improve those processes.
  • Ability to establish and manage independent work schedule that accommodates needs of community management teams.
